Using copy stand techniques, I attempted to later the frozen sculptures in between layers of glass, the first images are showing you the layers and have a presence of their own.
During this series, I ran into problems of condensation on the glass, I also added water to remove and sand which resulted in this lovely dripping from layer to layer. I thought it suited the narrative, melting and layers. This work is from above, I thought about the layers of plastic in the see that extend for miles. I was not repulsed by the refection of the plastic on the glass because I felt that it added yet another abstract layer.Kylie Naylor, Layers of Trouble 4, 2020, image, found plastic objects, frozen, layered glass, photograph. For the last group in this series, I focused on zooming in and isolating a group of plastic, I wanted to capture the overwhelming magnitude, filling my frame with no breathing room and no where to rest from the plastic.
The plastic bundles were a process to continue to attempt to wrap and bind the frozen plastic, however it melted quickly and the layers moved around with the water so it became a precarious shoot, which I had to eventually about to save any broken glass.
